Old-Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies
A simple, reliable family cookie made with coconut sugar and plenty of dark chocolate chips.
There is nothing that beats the best. We have so much fun making these as a family, and it is a joy that the recipe is simple enough for children to help with—and always delicious.
Ingredients
- 1 stick salted butter, at room temperature
- 2 cups coconut sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 heaping teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 1/2–2 cups chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Combine butter, coconut sugar, and vanilla.
- Add the eggs and mix thoroughly.
- Mix in baking soda and sea salt.
- Slowly add the flour.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and mix until the dough is smooth.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, checking on the early side since every oven is different.
