Slow Cooker Steak Tacos
Tender salsa-verde steak tacos that are almost entirely hands-off and reheat beautifully.
We love meat, especially steak. This recipe is almost entirely hands-off, reheats beautifully, and can be made mild or spicy depending on your salsa verde and chili powder.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chuck roast, cubed
- Sea salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1/2–1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/3 cup salsa verde
- 1/3 cup chicken bone broth
- 1–1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano (optional)
For serving
- Tortillas
- Black or pinto beans
- Crispy potatoes or sweet potatoes
- Shredded sharp cheddar
- Diced red onion
- Diced avocado
- Sour cream
- Cilantro
- Salsa
Directions
- Season the beef with salt and pepper. Sauté in butter over medium-high heat until seared on all sides.
- Combine the beef with onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salsa verde, broth, and oregano in a slow cooker or multicooker.
- Cover and cook on high for 4–6 hours or low for 6–8 hours, until tender.
- Serve with your favorite taco accompaniments.
May your day be filled with what is beautiful and good ~ Caitlyn
