Slow Cooker Steak Tacos

Tender salsa-verde steak tacos that are almost entirely hands-off and reheat beautifully.

We love meat, especially steak. This recipe is almost entirely hands-off, reheats beautifully, and can be made mild or spicy depending on your salsa verde and chili powder.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chuck roast, cubed
  • Sea salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/2–1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/3 cup salsa verde
  • 1/3 cup chicken bone broth
  • 1–1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano (optional)

For serving

  • Tortillas
  • Black or pinto beans
  • Crispy potatoes or sweet potatoes
  • Shredded sharp cheddar
  • Diced red onion
  • Diced avocado
  • Sour cream
  • Cilantro
  • Salsa

Directions

  1. Season the beef with salt and pepper. Sauté in butter over medium-high heat until seared on all sides.
  2. Combine the beef with onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salsa verde, broth, and oregano in a slow cooker or multicooker.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 4–6 hours or low for 6–8 hours, until tender.
  4. Serve with your favorite taco accompaniments.

May your day be filled with what is beautiful and good ~ Caitlyn
